What to expect at a class
Introductory classes follow a flexible structure, and often begin with a simple breathing meditation exercise to reduce stress, tension, and distractions.
This guided meditation is followed by a talk on how to incorporate meditation techniques and Buddhist principles into daily life. This may include topics such as improving relationships, gaining peace of mind, coping with stress and dealing with anger.
The class may then include another meditation designed to help us gain deeper experience of the subject of the class. Finally, the class is concluded with discussion and the opportunity to ask questions.
You do not need any previous experience to attend these classes. Everyone is welcome. Seating is on chairs, just wear comfortable clothing.
Drop-in class fee is £8 per session, Please note that our classes and courses are taught and run entirely by volunteers. All fees go towards operating costs such as transport and venue hire. Classes run by Dorjechang Buddhist Centre.
